Cat-tastic Tuesday

cats

I’m loving how this little kitty stands out against the drab colors of the girls outfit and background.  If only my kitties would pose this pretty when being photographed!  Based on the leg-of-mutton sleeves, this photograph is from the 1890s.

  1. I love this picture, Ashley. I’ve been without any heat for 24+ hours, and this photo warms my heart! Thanks for sharing.

This is awesome! It’s weird, when I first looked at it, I thought she was wearing braces because of the discolouration of her teeth – probably due to the camera??
Also, if you’ve never heard of it, you may be interested in the novel Miss Peregrine’s School for Peculiar Children – the author uses many old photographs to create a fictional story line. The photos are the true stars, as far as I’m concerned – the story is a little far-fetched, but still interesting. I just really love gazing at old photographs!

    • How funny! I never noticed her teeth! It could either be that or some kind if staining…

I have heard of that book but have yet to read it! I’ll def have to add it to my list!
